VISION: An Uncorked. Unapologetic. fundraiser, hosted at Tandem in Carrboro, NC, sponsored by PEEL Gallery, benefiting The ArtsCenter. September 21 · 5:30–7:30 PM. Get Tickets
Before the wine. Before the room. Before any of it, there was one question, asked to a stranger in a room full of Carr Mill merchants.
That question became Uncorked. Unapologetic.
Our founding story drops at VISION. How we met. How one interview turned into a friendship, a business, and a room full of women who needed exactly this.
VISION will be a night where Studio 54 meets art gallery meets dance party. Come dressed to shine, sip something fabulous, take in the art, and dance the night away. Come celebrate. Come connect. Come dance. Come VISION with us.
-Emma and Stacey
Tandem is where it all began
Tandem at 200 N Greensboro St, is in the heart of Carrboro. Emma-owned, and the heart of Uncorked. Unapologetic. It’s where it all began.
Our past does not define us. It’s what we do with the pain we’ve experienced, the lessons we’ve learned, and the strength we’ve gained that truly defines us. - Emma Dunbar, Owner Tandem Restaurant
Turn your pain into purpose. Use your voice. Lift others up. Be the person who helps someone else find their way.

We’re lifting up The ArtsCenter
VISION benefits The ArtsCenter — the Carrboro institution that's been funding scholarships, educational programming, outreach, and studio improvements for over fifty years. This is where a kid takes their first class. Where a working artist finds a studio. Where a town remembers that creativity is infrastructure.
You show up. You drink the cocktails. You buy the art. The ArtsCenter keeps the door open for the next person who walks through it. That's the whole deal.
SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT: PEEL Gallery
PEEL Gallery + Photo Lab is curating the walls — and they know what they're doing. PEEL is one of Carrboro's most generous creative spaces: a gallery, a photo lab, a community room that hosts collage nights and film screenings and the kind of exhibitions that make you stand a little closer. They back emerging and under-recognized artists. We're proud to have them in our corner.
DJ Fifi Hi-Fi is playing the soundtrack
DJ Fifi Hi-Fi, aka Sarah Honer, is driving the night. Carrboro original. Career movement educator. Choreographer. A DJ who throws the kind of parties where people dance, phones down, all the way in. Her sets pull from deep crates post-punk, darkwave, 80s vinyl, the weird and wonderful, and she has a gift for reading a room and refusing to let it stand still.
VISION’S FEATURE ARTIST: Sudie Rakusin
I am a visual artist, sculptor, author, illustrator, publisher, vegan, Jewish and a radical feminist; I have identified as such since the '70s. With each year my awareness grew so now my feminism includes being an animal advocate. The first feminist treatise I read changed my life exponentially: Mary Daly’s ‘Gyn/Ecology: The Meta Ethics of Radical Feminism’. I was fortunate to be chosen by her to illustrate her last four books.
I work in cold wax and oil, pen and ink, collage and papier-mâché. I draw and paint the world as I would like it to be: a place where women and animals have the right to live their lives as they choose, where we and our animal kin traverse the earth without fear of being brutalized, hurt, or murdered for food. My women are brave and strong as well as sensitive and vulnerable, and always beautiful, regardless of their size, shape or skin color
Even more amazing Artists!
The walls will be loaded. This is a group that works across mixed-media, collage, and painting, layered, vivid, a little psychedelic, the kind of art that rewards an unapologetic look.
DJ Fifi Hi-Fi (Sarah Honer) — movement artist, DJ, and the night's soundtrack, all in one.
